We’re “educated” from toddlerhood in America to keep The Sword of Truth “in its place” (if we must have one at all), which is, as we are reminded again and again and again: In its sheath and safely stored away at home. Or at church. Or in a prayer closet. Or in our precious, sweet little heart. Or whatever…you get the picture.

The point is that while we are allowed – and even half-heartedly encouraged – to have our Bibles, if we must, one thing that is repeatedly, redundantly, and emphatically made plain is that those Bibles are personal. Religion is private. As such, these things must be safely tucked away and sequestered from exposure to the many realms of “real life” that might be harmed or in which we might offend others by brandishing this dangerous, threatening weapon.

It is that it is not to be openly displayed, much less acknowledged or used, as the essential lie-shredding, life-defining, path-clearing gift that it is when it comes to the education of little children. Or older children. Or adults. (See: Redeeming Children’s Education: Confronting Our Satanic Approach to the Pursuit of Knowledge.)

It is not to be openly used as the essential deception-slashing guide to Truth when it comes to teaching children (or anyone else) about art, economics, law, liberty, mathematics, or anything else. (See: Art, math, beauty, logic, law and economics…it’s all about Him.)

And it is definitely not to be brandished as essential to the pursuit of politics, law, and civil government.

Oh no, we can’t have that!

Not in America!

After all, if we actually encouraged and submitted to the Sword of Truth that way, we might lose our precious American “freedoms”!

You know, like the “freedom” to openly worship any god we like. (See: Note to ‘Merica: There is no “God-given right” to worship false gods. Repent accordingly.)

And the “freedom” to openly blaspheme the one true God. (“It’s my ‘God-given right’ to openly mock God!”, declares many a proud and quite insane American.)

And the “freedom” to openly sell pornography or run a strip club. (Another All-American ‘God-given right’ that is actually despised by God.)

And the “freedom” to proclaim the “legality” of “gay marriage”. (See: “Supreme Court” Votes for Wrath of God Upon America.)

And the “freedom” to perpetually redefine (or un-define and destroy) family, marriage, justice, law, life, and freedom itself. (See: Ze Heil! Or: American Education’s Orwellian War on God and Gender.)

And let’s not forget the “freedom” to openly murder and dismember millions and millions of our own baby boys and girls, sacrificing them on the alters of convenience and profit in the name of All-American “liberty” and…you guessed it…”freedom“. (See: Selling murdered baby parts in America? Sure. Why not?)

If we were to have Christ rule over us instead of clinging to “We the People” as God in practice, we would lose all of this glorious American freedom!

Which would then lead to empowerment of the biblical Family and the biblical Church at the expense of the ever-increasing power of the wildly unbiblical American State.

…and the American State can’t have that, you know.

So we’re pitched and “educated” and reminded and pressured at every turn by every Pagan “leader” and “expert” in the land – as well as a good many professing Christian pastors – to just keep that pesky Sword in its place. We’re encouraged in every way possible to just let the secular “experts” handle things like politics, law, and the sculpting of our children’s minds. It’ll all be cool in the end. (See: Why is the beast of Socialism eating our children? Ask your pastor.)

So is it?

Cool, I mean.

Is it cool in America?

Is it “all good”, bro?

How has this “set aside the Sword of Truth” worked out for us?

How is this “real world” approach to law, economics, and civil government impacting our homes, families, and culture?

What’s the scorecard looking like, my fellow Americans?

Why not have a look? Why not actually take a sec to do the math?

Why not stop to see whether sheathing the Sword of Truth has been good or bad for us?

Why not stop to see – and test – what we actually believe in practice?

In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. . .

~ Ephesians 6:16-17 (emphasis added)

And Jesus came and said to them, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

~ Jesus (the real One), in Matthew 28:18-20 (emphasis added)

Christians – true Christians – are equipped with the Sword of Truth and commanded to use it in every area of life in every realm of reality in every waking minute of every waking day…all so that the Gospel-fueled Great Commission might be realized, all by Christ’s grace, all for His glory, and all to the eternal benefit of His people.

There are no “Sword of Truth-free” zones anywhere in God’s creation.
