Before anyone flips out over the phrase “useful Christian idiot” in the above graphic, please consider the following bit of Wiki wisdom: “In political jargon, useful idiot is a term for people perceived as propagandists for a cause whose goals they are not fully aware of, and who are used cynically by the leaders of the cause.” (Also, please be encouraged to consult Never forget that apart from God’s grace you and I are complete morons.)

Since we live in an age where even many professing Christians in America are more likely to become angered (to the point of action) over use of the word “idiot” than they are bothered by the pathetic “pro-life” positions of certain organizations we’re about to cover here, it seemed like a good idea to tackle that up front.

Now, on to more important points…(and yes, believe it or not, there are more important things than the fragile feelings of confused professing evangelicals in America.)

Yesterday, Dr. Joel McDurmon of The American Vision posted Aiding and abetting the Abortion-Industrial Complex, in which he examined the rather putrid positioning of two very high profile “Christian pro-life” organizations:

This week we have seen two examples in which the compromised, mushy, politically correct, hamstrung, “loving,” pro-life movement is exposed for the ineffective, wasteful, counterproductive money pit that it is.

No sooner was it revealed that Focus on the Family has published a virtual how-to brochure for the abortion pill than we are now treated to a Christianity Today authoress telling us that calling abortion “murder” is “unchristlike.”

With pro-life activism like this, who needs Planned Parenthood?

Indeed.

When this is how “Christian pro-life” forces choose to engage the issue of child sacrifice in America, is it any wonder that there is child sacrifice in America? (See also: With evangelicalism like this, who needs a Whore of Babylon?)

We wrote on this issue last week in Focus on the Family Pimps for the Abortion Industry, and when we did, a fair amount of the feedback that we received was in defense of Focus on the Family. While most feedback was encouraging and expressed great concern/disappointment with Focus on the Family, those wishing to defend Focus on the Family made “arguments” directly in line with the “compromised, mushy, politically correct, hamstrung” worldview that McDurmon goes on to describe in some detail :

Buried near the end of the brochure, the author does suggest the reader should “think about the life within you” and states that the abortion pill will result in the “death of the baby.” Good. But why bury this truth beneath pages of guidelines for abortion to be as safe as possible?

It’s an evangelical technique: let’s pretend to speak the language of the lost, pretend to be one of them, and then bashfully squeeze in a tiny bit of our own worldview at the end hoping they just might, please, please, consider the Gospel if we’re nice enough, compassionate enough, not confrontational, and do not appear too confident about our convictions. (This last part will kill any deal among this crowd: if you wield your convictions confidently, you automatically fail the first tip-toe-steps of the psychobabble-ballet. You will be deemed a flathead and Neanderthal, and if you speak intellectually, a patriarchalistic meanie.)

The bottom line is this: There is no true Gospel proclamation without the Gospel command to repent of sin.

If we won’t define sin, we can’t present the true Gospel, and if we don’t present the true Gospel, there is no hope for the lost people in our lost culture. “Protecting” people from the confrontation and correction of the Gospel isn’t a demonstration of love for the lost and dying. It’s a demonstration of hatred for them…and a love of self, of course.

After all, we don’t want to me tagged as “judgmental meanies“, now do we?

Nah, of course not.

And we’re willing to do whatever it takes to avoid such labels and stay on people’s good side…even if “what it takes” is our nicely escorting them (and the culture) to hell. (See: Candy Christianity: America’s Favorite Counterfeit Gospel.)

So when it comes to murder, let’s call it murder.

When it comes to child sacrifice, let’s call it child sacrifice. (See: Murdered language, murdered babies, and how one leads to the other.)

Let’s love the Lord, the lost, and the millions of potential casualties of our ongoing Christian-enabled system of “legal” child sacrifice in America enough to clearly share the whole of God’s truth to those most in need…rather than shielding them from it.

Let’s faithfully proclaim the supernatural Gospel command to repent of any past murder committed and any thoughts of future child sacrifice being presently entertained, so that by God’s grace those who have and are now considering the murder of innocent children might be saved.

Now there’s an idea…
