  1. Indeed, how do I know which Lordship gospel is the true gospel? There are many Lordships out there. Some Lordships are soft on sin, others are hard on repentance. But the question has a false premise. All Lordship gospels have a common denominator: works for salvation. The simple answer is that none of these gospels are right. They all teach works in one disguise or another: works to earn, keep, or prove salvation. They are all roads to hell. Whether it is Catholicism, Orthodoxy, Augustinianism, Mormonism, Campbellism, Adventism, or Bussism, if it adds works, it is no longer grace and hence no longer saves.

God hath said, God so loved the world. The serpent says, Hath God said? Ever since Augustine, man has deleted "world" and added "elect", rejected "believe", and added "but you must prove it", and in so doing they forbid whosoever will from entering. This and so many abominations man has done with God's word. It is a small wonder that the plagues are not already upon us.

God hath said, For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish but have everlasting life. God hath not said, whosoever I have chosen, whosoever worketh, or whosoever proveth may enter. These are the hisses of the serpent and the ideas of man, and they are the broad road that leads to destruction. The road to eternal life is straight and narrow, and you make it long, difficult, and tortuous.

If I am convinced that Lordship is true, I may as well well go the whole way, reject God's Son, consider that very notion blasphemy, and join a broad world religion that does the same. For if righteousness came by law, Jesus died in vain. It is either Grace or Submission, water or chrismation. It cannot be both. They do not mix.

    1. Those who hate the fact of Jesus as Lord don't have a true Jesus as savior. They have a fictional religious construct masquerading as Jesus, incapable of salvation or anything else.

True love for Christ inherently inspires an increasing desire to more accurately know and more accurately conform to His Nature as revealed in His Word, all by His grace and all for His glory. True salvation can never be attained (or sustained) by works, and, at the same time, true salvation inherently inspires loving obedience to the Lord who saves His people.

Of course, those clinging to rebellion and lame attempts at rationalization around the lordship of Christ hate these truths. That's to be expected and is in complete harmony with what the Lord tells us about false converts and dead religionists.

To claim a love for Christ while refusing to obey Christ (or encourage others to do the same as commanded by Jesus in His Great Commission – see: Matthew 28:18-20) is to epitomize the false, lawless religion and worldview described by Jesus in Matthew 7:21-23:

"Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’"
