Sometimes things here seem so corrupted through sinful abuse that it’s hard to even imagine, much less clearly comprehend, a sinless version of them.

Things like politics, economics, law, justice and art can seem “so far gone” because of the pervasiveness and depth of their abuse that they begin to feel somehow sinful or bad in and of themselves. But that is not so.

While sinful men, women, boys and girls do indeed corrupt the things that they touch and use to achieve their own selfish, sinful desires, that corruption through the abuse of things (like money, politics, or art) does not make the things themselves inherently evil or fundamentally corrupt by their very nature. To the contrary, redeeming all things that have been corrupted through sin is the calling and (undeniable) goal of the Great Commission. (See: The devil only holds what we leave in his hands.)

Through the Gospel-fueled Great Commission, God has chosen to work through His people to do many life- and culture-changing things. Through the supernatural salvation of His people by His grace through His Gospel, we are made into New Creatures in Christ who are, for the first time, inspired and equipped to resist the sin we once adored and pursue the holiness that we once hated. This is why Scripture is so clear that true converts – those who have really and truly been supernaturally saved by Christ – will indeed strive to learn and obey all that He has lovingly proclaimed in His Word. Through this God-given, grace-fueled new life of ever-growing submission to God’s Word, His people cannot help but produce the “good fruit” of increasingly active obedience, which in turn cannot help but impact everything that they personally touch in life. This is how the true Gospel impacts everything in a culture. (See: Art, math, beauty, logic, law and economics…it’s all about Him.)

Along those lines, I’ve been thinking in recent months about how to better promote the Gospel-fueled message and mission of Fire Breathing Christian.

With a zero dollar budget, I thought that memes might be a good way to go; one good tool to help promote the work being done here at Fire Breathing Christian.

So I spent part of the past couple of days pairing some popular “meme” images with Gospel/Biblical/Great Commission-themed thoughts. Here are some of the ones that I’ve finished and gotten out there:

So there you have it. Please share any of these that you find worthy.

Lord willing, someday we will have much more to work with here at Fire Breathing Christian in the way of time, resources, equipment and the like, but, for now, we are happy to use what we do have as best as we are able to get the Gospel-fueled Great Commission message out into the dying Pagan culture in which we’ve been placed. Your prayers, encouragement and massive amounts of post/meme/link sharing are much appreciated!

For those of you who are able to help the mission financially, please prayerfully consider doing through this link.

Please feel free to send on any feedback or meme suggestions that you might have.

Thank you for taking the time to kick these ideas around.

Have a great weekend!

In His grip,

Scott
