Deer, duck, and turkey seasons may come and go, but sacred cow season is always open.

The trouble is, we tend to be more into protecting these beasts than we are into killing ’em. After all, they’re called sacred because they’re sacred to us even though the Lord we claim with our lips despises them…which is why He wants us to kill them and why they end up killing us when we won’t kill them.

One of the things we need to be reminded of is our very real need to be actively, aggressively, and joyfully participating in the ongoing sacred cow hunting season that God has ordained, commanded, and equipped us to live out here and now by His grace, for His glory, and very much to our own temporal and eternal benefit.

But we don’t believe that, do we?

We don’t believe in that mission.

Not really, anyway.

If we did believe it – if we really believed that sacred cows were evil and destructive and that they had to be killed in order for us and our children to know true peace, joy, and prosperity – then we would be about the business of killing them.

But we’re not.

We’re much more into defending them.

Professing Christians these days are very much into defending and helping to prop up pagan/satanic constructs like State-run children’s “education” and pagan-defined, man-centered approaches to civil government. (See: Note to ‘Merica: There is no “God-given right” to worship false gods. Repent accordingly.)

And then we wonder why the world gets worse and worse around us when, in fact, it is only following our lead. It’s only following our example. It’s only disregarding Scripture in the areas it doesn’t want God to touch because it has been watching us do the very same thing for a very, very loooooong time.

This hard but undeniable truth illustrates how it is that we who profess Christ are most responsible for the current state of our rapidly disintegrating culture. (See: Judgment begins with the Church…not the Democrats.)

If we won’t identify and kill our own sacred cows, who will?

If we won’t faithfully pursue and apply our Lord’s loving, detailed commands in the vital life- and culture-shaping realm of children’s education, then how can we credibly claim “shock” and “horror” when generation upon generation of purposefully pagan programming produces…increasingly pagan generations and an increasingly godless culture? (See: Redeeming Children’s Education: Confronting Our Satanic Approach to the Pursuit of Knowledge.)

If we won’t faithfully proclaim and apply the lordship of Christ in our approach to law, who will? (See: Presuppositional Law: Where we begin with law determines where we end.)

If we won’t faithfully proclaim and apply the lordship of Christ in our approach to business and economics, who will? (See: Fiat $lavery: We have been bought and paid for…with nothing.)

If we won’t faithfully proclaim and apply the lordship of Christ in our approach to civil government and politics, who will? (See: How’s that Pagan “conservatism” workin’ out for ya, Christian?)

Who will do these things if we won’t?

If we will not repent and submit to Christ as Lord in practice, then who will?

Nobody, that’s who.

It’s on us, Christian.

Sacred cow season is open.

We have been commanded and equipped to hunt and kill ’em all…beginning with those closest to us.

So man up, buttercup. Rome wasn’t conquered in a day.

Let’s ditch the excuses and get to it…all by His grace, all for His glory, and all to the benefit of our children, grandchildren, and every generation to come.
