What does “We the People” religion look like in action?

Where does a “We the People”-centered worldview lead in practice?

Well, if you live in America, all you need to do is have a look around.

The “We the People” worldview inherently, inevitably and quite proudly leads to everything from the “freedom” to murder tens of millions of our own babies for convenience to the “liberty” to “marry” whomever we please. (See: Note to ‘Merica: There is no “God-given right” to murder children. Repent accordingly.) It’s all about us. It’s all about “We the People”…a people who will not have Christ to rule over us.

The derivative horrors of mass child sacrifice and “gay marriage” are born of our cherished “right” to freely and openly worship any god that we like. That’s what we (blasphemously) call a “God-given right” here in ‘Merica, and by treating God’s Nature and Word as optional we have set ourselves up for the cultural implosion that is now upon us and the much worse that is to come. (See: Note to ‘Merica: There is no “God-given right” to worship false gods. Repent accordingly.)

Neat, huh?

That’s where “We the People”-centered living leads.

That’s where “We the People” as god in practice gets a culture. (See: Confronting Americult.)

Today’s shimmering example of American Religion in action comes by way of a well known purveyor of a false go$pel that plays particularly well in America, where success is measured first and most by how much $$$ you have accumulated. In an article entitled T.D. Jakes Comes Out for ‘Gay Rights’ and ‘LGBT Churches,’ Says Position is ‘Evolving’, Christian News Network reported that:

Megachurch leader and author T.D. Jakes says that homosexuals should attend congregations that affirm their lifestyle and that politics do not need to reflect biblical ethics, adding that his position on homosexuality is both “evolved and evolving.”

During an interview with the Huffington Post on Monday, Jakes was asked by a viewer if he believes that homosexuals and the black church can co-exist.

“Absolutely… I think it is going to be diverse from church to church. Every church has a different opinion on the issue and every gay person is different,” he replied. “And I think that to speak that the church—the black church, the white church or any kind of church you wanna call it—are all the same, is totally not true.”

Jakes said that he thinks homosexuals should find congregations that affirm their lifestyle.

“LGBT’s of different types and sorts have to find a place of worship that reflects what your views are and what you believe like anyone else,” he outlined.

“The church should have the right to have its own convictions and values; if you don’t like those convictions and values [and] you totally disagree with it, don’t try to change my house, move into your own … and find somebody who gets what you get about faith,” Jakes added.

He said that the issue of homosexuality is “complex.”

Then we got this clarifying – and quite damning (in a proud, All-American kinda way) – little gem:

Once you begin to understand that democracy—that a republic actually—is designed to be an overarching system to protect our unique nuances, then we no longer look for public policy to reflect biblical ethics,” Jakes explained. (Emphasis added.)

We no longer look for public policy to reflect biblical values.

Indeed.

And exactly.

When the State becomes god in practice, all other gods naturally become submissive under the god of the State, which rules over all people and their lesser gods. This is our assured path to tyranny under men. Those who will not have the Nature of God as revealed in His Word to rule over them will instead live under the tyranny of godless men who imagine themselves to be gods. These wannabe gods will redefine and re-redefine everything from law, liberty, family, marriage and even life itself again and again as they march the masses ever-deeper into the Orwellian hell of anti-Christian Statism.

You know, like here in America.

Which is precisely why we must now repent and submit to Christ as King in practice…though something tells me that Jakes (and most American “Christians” along with their favored “leaders” and “experts”) would intend for his statement to encourage us in precisely the opposite direction.

You either believe that Christ is King here and now…or you do not.

. . . Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” ~ Jesus (the real One), in Matthew 28:18 (emphasis added)

You either believe in the Gospel-fueled Great Commission as actually applying to everyone and everything right here and now…or you do not.

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you.” ~ Jesus (the real One), in Matthew 28:19-20 (emphasis added)

You either believe that Christ has commanded and equipped His people to take every thought – every political, governmental, economic, artistic and legal thought – captive to Him right here and now…or you do not.

We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ . . . ~ 2 Corinthians 10:5 (emphasis added)

It is becoming more and more painfully clear that here in America even the vast majority of professing Christians loudly and proudly fall into the “do not” camp.

They, like TD Jakes, will not have Christ to rule over them.

Not here in the “land of the free” and the home of the NSA.

Not here where “We the People” make the rules. (See: Who owns America? (Hint: Not “We the People”.).)

So enjoy, ‘Merica.

Enjoy what “We the People” will always get when we refuse to bend the knee and surrender our pride at the feet of Christ the King.

Enjoy your “right” to have witches lead your “law makers” in “prayer”. (See: Religious “Freedom” Update: Witch leads American heartland “lawmakers” in “prayer”.)

Enjoy your ongoing “right” to mass child sacrifice. (See: 51,000,003 reasons why America owes Nazi Germany an apology.)

Enjoy your “right” to “gay marriages” (and whatever is about to come after that). (See: “Supreme Court” Votes for Wrath of God Upon America.)

Enjoy the fruits of your arrogant, Christ-dismissing “freedom”.

Enjoy the results of your prideful, Christ-mocking “liberty”.

Enjoy your tyranny-enabling Christ-less “law”. (See: Presuppositional Law: Where we begin with law determines where we end.)

Or better yet – much better…infinitely better… – repent and submit to Christ as King now, while there is yet time.

Submit to Him and find true life-empowering law, art, economics, and everything else. (See: What does Jesus bring to politics, education, law, and economics?)

I know, I know…that’s not “the American way”.

That’s not “how we do things” here in “the land of the free” and the home of the NSA.

On this the likes of Rush Limbaugh, Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, TD Jakes, Madonna and pretty much every Pagan Right or Pagan Left “leader” and “expert” agree.

Which is precisely why we are dying in such dramatic, history-making fashion.

Repentance and submission to Christ as King is not the best of many viable options.

It’s the one and only viable option.

It is all that we have, because Christ is all that there is.

He owns everything in His creation and it will all serve to glorify Him perfectly, one way or another.

We will either serve as a dramatic example of where “We the People” worship ultimately leads (death) or we will serve as an even more dramatic example of His grace through mass repentance and life-saving submission to Him even as we approach the edge of oblivion.

So which will it be, America?

Choose this day Whom you will serve…

Will it be “We the People” to whom you pledge your highest allegiance, as TD Jakes and other “experts” and “leaders” from the Pagan Right and Pagan Left would have you do, or will your defining commitment center on Christ as King in practice in every realm of life here and now? (See: How’s that Pagan “conservatism” workin’ out for ya, Christian?)

May God bless America with broken humiliation and groveling repentance…while there is yet time.

  1. Mr. Buss, for all of TD Jakes's problems, Ann Smith is right. Huffington Post did indeed take Jakes's comments out of context; the antagonist, in this particular story, is HuffPost. Here are two statements by T.D. Jakes on Facebook clarifying the interview, his use of the word "evolve," and his stance on homosexuality:

I take this as yet another lesson from the proverb that warns us not to believe every word, but to look well to our going. Thanks again for all you do.

    1. Howdy Caleb,

I’d read Jakes’ “clarifying” responses to the initial Christian News story before writing or posting this article. I’ve not yet found anything in those “clarifications” that would contradict anything that I’ve written, though it is entirely possible for me to miss or misunderstand things, so if you have an actual quote from either linked item you shared here (or anywhere else) that you believe contradicts anything that I’ve written, please do share it here. I would appreciate that.

That HuffPo may well have (not surprisingly) acted in a suspicious or dishonorable manner does not instantly relegate the many (still) troubling things that Jakes said (in context) and has *not* “corrected”. It is Jakes’ understanding of the Christian church and worldview that was (and still is) the focal point of the article here at FBC, and I have not yet heard or read any words from Jakes (or anyone attempting to defend Jakes) that alters those concerns.

I hope that these clarifications are helpful.

      Have a good one!

  2. good ole TD has gone from apostate to reprobate and teaching others do so I would not stand too close during a tstorm This I leave you TD JAKES and all who agree with him you been warned ! >> this day fall to thy knees put your hands in your faces ,Cry out woe is me for I have made the most High as man and question Him . for you have forsaken the Word of truth given unto fables and idolatry . your spirit hath fornicated. your lips lie saying thus saith the Lord . for my bride doth commit adultery fornicating with the ways of the world . mine is the Glory saith the Lord there is no other god beside me, all the thrones of them that ascend shall be cast down in that day them who fornicate with them shall take part in my wrath saith the lord turn this day repent for you know not the hour I shall come unto thee.. amen

  3. So how do you intend to “take every thought captive”?

You say people need to repent. How many? And then what happens? You sieze power Nazi Germany style?

    Explain yourself?

  4. Me again. My first post prompted me to write out a new post for my own blog today. Turns out the media got it wrong. You can thank that yellow rag the Huffington Post for putting words in Jakes' mouth. Then news outlets like the Christian News Network and others picked up on it and simply perpetuated this big gay lie. Here is a small excerpt from my article today:

Say what you like about T.D. Jakes. He was in the news recently because of his interview with the Huffington Post’s Marc Lamont-Hill where he discussed the black community and the sexual equality movement in general. What seemed to many to be a middle-of-the-road stance about coexistence somehow turned into a pro-gay statement by black churches with Jakes speaking for the throngs. Aaron Barksdale reported on the interview and quickly made Jakes seem like the darling of the gay-pride movement. Late Sunday on August 9, 2015, Jakes clarified his position by posting this statement on Facebook (in part),

“I briefly mentioned (we were running out of time) the word "evolved and evolving" regarding my approach over the 39 years of my ministry to gay people who choose to come to our services.

I simply meant that my method is evolving—not my message. I was shocked to read that this was manipulated in a subsequent article to say I endorsed same-sex marriage! My position on the subject has been steadfast and rooted in Scripture.

For the record, I do not endorse same-sex marriage, but I respect the rights that this country affords those that disagree with me."

It seems that publications like the Huffinton Post push the envelope as far as they can, whenever they can to breathe their liberal agenda into every statement made in public. The fallout is that people are accusing HuffPo of tabloid journalism and others are saying that Jakes is a wimp.

  5. Thank you Scott. The one comment I can get on board with is this (and I wish EVERYONE would respect it): “The church should have the right to have its own convictions and values; if you don’t like those convictions and values [and] you totally disagree with it, don’t try to change my house, move into your own … and find somebody who gets what you get about faith.”

In this country the first amendment guarantees us the "right to be wrong." My father always used to say the the KKK has every right to march down main street if they want to, and then he would give us the quote, "I may not agree with what you say but I will defend to your death your right to say it." His point, of course, is that once you begin censoring any group, it then becomes a slippery slope before they come after you.

Lately my biggest gripe is how hate speech is being legitimized in various blogs where people say things like, "I will not stop until I put the final nail in the coffin of fundamentalism." How arrogant to put one's own belief system above other sects with whose philosophies you do not agree! I called someone out on this just this week but the hate does not stop. When do you see mainstream conservative religious people mocking others the way lovers of sin do to us. Is it not bigotry and hate speech to refer to our deity as "your sky god" and to say such things as, "Well, in 100 years from now YOUR kind won't exist… [emphasis added]?"

Do you think I would dare to act so childish and hateful to another one of God's human beings? Who is it who needs to "evolve" here? Enough from me already. I think you get the idea.

Regards from http://www.SincerityandWisdom.com. Keep up the good work!

  6. Hi Scott, and God bless you.

I agree completely with just about everything I've read of yours. In fact, can't think of anything that I didn't…

Anyway, wanted to share this website with you: http://www.bridemovement.com

Daniel Duval speaks a great deal about the Kingdom of God.

I'd always heard preaching about the "Kingdom of God", but it was always described as something we'll see sometime…some day.

    Wrong.

It is our job, I believe – and I know you do too – as children of the Most High, to PROCLAIM and TAKE CAPTIVE every single thought, every word…ALL OF CREATION…for our King!

Anyway…have a read on his website. Dan and several others work with individuals who have been subjected to numerous mind control, satanic ritual abuse and other NWO schemes.

Our God is indeed working in this world, and I give thanks for powerful writers like yourself who share the truth about what being a TRUE CHRISTIAN requires.

    It's ALL about HIM!!! 😉
